On October 19th a new skate board park in Corning, California opened. It even attracted some local pros on its opening day. The Corning branch of Rabobank was on hand cooking up free hot dogs for everyone. Radio station Power 102 was broadcasting live from the Corning Community Park providing all the latest music. It was a great time had by all ages from young to old. They all got to show off their skills. Bikers were able to maneuver through the chaotic scene and get some time in on the new track as well.
People from as far away as Oroville, San Francisco and Oakland showed up to enjoy the grand opening. What another great attraction for the city of Corning. When you think of Corning, California it's not just the olive capital of the world anymore. It is becoming quite known for olive oil, golfing and now skate park has been added to that list.ddfFlorida

Lassen Peak, also known as Mount Lassen, is the southernmost active volcano in the Cascade Range. It is part of the Cascade Volcanic Arc which is an arc that stretches from southwestern British Columbia to northern California.
Located in the Shasta Cascade region of Northern California, Lassen rises 2,000 ft (600 m) above the surrounding terrain and has a volume of 0.5 cu mi (2 km), making it one of the largest lava domes on Earth. It was created on the destroyed northeastern flank of now gone Mount Tehama, a stratovolcano that was at least 1,000 ft (300 m) higher than Lassen Peak.
